The Useful...Or Useless G20 Meeting

As Barack Obama is in Europe this week, he's already beginning to get some push back from the EU states Merkel of Germany and Sarkozy of France especially are doing some pushing. It's not surprizing to find it coming from two CONSERVATIVE leaders. There is even criticism coming from the current EU President, the Czech prime minister, Mirek Topolanek. Ironically, just a couple of years ago the situation was reversed with conservative leadership in the US and liberal leadership in France and Germany. Some commentators have even questioned whether there is any point to the current G20 meeting. I suppose it does serve the one purpose of allowing President Obama to finally introduce himself to the other national leaders in the group, but that is about it.

I don't want to be negative here, but Obama really needs to get over the messianic complex that he has. Because he's not going to fix all of the world's problems by just waving his arm. He is my President, and we'll have to deal with him for the next four years. I just hope we can someone better next time.
