So, is this thing a referendum on Obama? I'm not sure if I can answer this question easily, because I think a strong case can be made for either argument. Though it was a district won handily by Obama on this go around, it has been traditionally a strong district for the GOP. However, if the GOP can even make it close (which they have done it seems) the argument can be made that Obama's popularity has at least been reduced somewhat there. However, I would not yet use even a GOP victory as a harbinger of things to come since it is such a cloudy situation.
